Chocolate Enlightenment Weekend!

For the true chocolate lover!

Enjoy an afternoon of Chocolate 101!  Learn about the history, lore and legends of chocolate. From there you will study the chocolate process from bean to confection! Once your brain is full, we will fill your tummy with a chocolate tasting. Very similar to a wine tasting, 15-20 different chocolates from milk to very dark are sampled, compared, discussed and enjoyed! Complete with handouts, recipes and a quiz! Then you will be treated to one of Larry's exquisite chocolate desserts. Chocolate will never be the same!

Murder in the chocolate factory could only be solved at the Cocoa Cottage Bed & Breakfast. Join us for two days of mayhem, mystery, fun and chocolate. Figure out who stole the prize winning recipe and what they did with the money. (The detective assigned to this case has a chocolate Jones and is eating the evidence!) We know what they did with the body!... We'll give you your character, you come in costume and play your part. Prizes awarded for the best costume and whoever solves the crime first!

No Boys Allowed!

Chocolate, Chick Flicks, Massages and No Boys Allowed! Gather your girl friends and head out for a weekend to call your own! Enjoy the Cocoa Cottage’s library of  videos and DVD’s from "Chocolat" to "Thelma and Louise", or bring your own classic film. Start your weekend escape with dinner at one of our local fine restaurants.

After enjoying an award winning breakfast, choose to head downtown and enjoy some shopping, or just stay in your jammies all day and enjoy another movie! A casual build-your-own dinner on Saturday at the Cocoa Cottage is at 6:00. The masseuse arrives at 7:00 to relax your tired hands and feet. Enjoy popcorn, homemade caramel corn, hot mulled cider or Cocoa Cottage decadent Hot Chocolate during the movie!

Baked Brie with cranberries, apricots, almonds and candied orange peel, with fresh figs, pears, crisp apple slices and gourmet crackers.
Salad:
Baby greens with caramelized red onion walnuts, pear and homemade Gorgonzola dressing.
Main Course:
Fresh lake trout, pan seared and served over fontina cheese polenta covered in a tomato, red onion, and balsamic vinegar “broth”.
Dessert:
Grand Marnier truffle filled tart with orange coulis and fresh raspberries.
