Our
philosophy about food is that
if
it's worth making, it’s worth making a fuss over. At the Cocoa Cottage
Bed and Breakfast, our recipes are made from scratch using the
freshest of ingredients (organic, when ever possible) and an extra pinch of
Larry and Lisa's creativity!
Food
allergies and dietary restrictions are no problem. Let us know, we can
accommodate! Breakfast is served between 7:30-8:30am to your
individual seating preference.

Signature
Breakfasts!
As
our name suggests, Chocolate is the year-round staple at the
Cocoa Cottage Bed and Breakfast. During check-in, delight in one
of Larry's Chocolate indulgences. At turndown, handmade
chocolates are on your pillow and of course, at breakfast, more
Chocolate! Our extra moist Chocolate zucchini bread served daily
along with Mama Tallarico's Classic Chocolate Hot Fudge with
fresh fruit. We offer juice coffee, a large
selection of regular or herbal teas and the richest Hot
Chocolate you have ever experienced. Not made from an instant
mix, this is like Mom used to make except with a little Aztec
influence, my favorite!

Like
most everything else in our great State of Michigan, our menu
changes with the seasons.
We are fortunate to live in some of
the Midwest’s richest farmlands. In Spring enjoy tender
asparagus
in our potato crusted savory quiche. If you're lucky,
our friend Stu will stop by with fresh-picked, organic, purple
asparagus. You have to try it to believe it!
You
know that summer is in full bloom when Larry sprinkles
handpicked black raspberries from the
Cocoa Cottage Bed and
Breakfast garden on your Lemon Ricotta Pancakes.
To
celebrate our local Blueberry festival
(the last weekend in July) our summer menu includes Lemon
Blueberry muffins, Blueberry Coffeecake French Toast or
Blueberry Bread Pudding with Lemon Curd.
We
can’t forget to mention the apples, peaches and cherries
that are a mainstay of our "market fresh" summer menu.

Our
most requested item is Larry’s Cottage Eggs. Baked and served
in a delicate crepe cup with Gruyere cheese, shallots and a hint
of tarragon. Maple smoked bacon is served as the perfect
compliment.
The aroma alone is worth the stay! The
second favorite request, Italian Strata! Ours starts with a
thick slice of Italian bread with layers of vine ripened tomato,
homemade pesto, smoked gouda cheese and fresh cilantro smothered
in an egg custard and baked to a puffed golden perfection,
served with mild Italian breakfast sausage.
Somebody call Louie!
If you prefer a lighter fare, most of our main entrées are
available in a half portions. Or, our organic, homemade granola
with organic yogurt. fresh fruit, breakfast breads and beverage
options.

your reservation, so please let us know, and we can
accommodate! Breakfast is served between 7:30-8:30am to your
individual seating preference.

You
can imagine how thrilled we were when we learned
that our guests voted the Cocoa Cottage Bed and
Breakfast (and Chef Larry) the "2004 Best
Breakfast" Award, ranked 5th in the Midwest, from
Arrington's Inn Traveler magazine, in our first year of
business!
If
you thought that was a thrill for us, you should
have been here when we were notified that this
year our guests voted the Cocoa Cottage Bed and
Breakfast the "2005 Best Breakfast in the
USA" Award, ranked 3rd in the US and Canada!
